  • 04/15/2015 Measles in Kyrgyzstan. Kyrgyzstan is experiencing an ongoing measles outbreak. CDC recommends that travelers to Kyrgyzstan protect themselves by making sure they are vaccinated against measles, particularly infants and children. Clinicians should keep measles in mind when treating patients with fever and rash, especially if the patient has recently traveled internationally.

  • 04/15/2015 Human infection with avian influenza A(H7N9) virus – China. On 10 April 2015, the National Health and Family Planning Commission (NHFPC) of China notified WHO of 20 additional laboratory-confirmed cases of human infection with avian influenza A (H7N9) virus, including 4 deaths.

Campaign of sensitization and early detection of EVD cases is ongoing in Forécariah, Guinea. Schools in Sierra Leone re-opened yesterday, about nine months since they were closed following the EVD outbreak.
