Avoid Nonessential Travel
CDC
- 06/08/2015 Nepal standing travel notice. CDC recommends that US residents avoid all nonessential travel to Nepal. If you must travel, such as for humanitarian aid work, then protect yourself by following CDC’s advice below.
- 06/08/2015 Ebola standing travel notice. CDC urges all US residents to avoid nonessential travel to Guinea and Sierra Leone because of unprecedented outbreaks of Ebola in those countries.

- 06/03/2015 Colombia Travel Warning. The Department of State has issued this Travel Warning to inform U.S. citizens about the security situation in Colombia.

- 06/05/2015 MERS in the Republic of Korea. The CDC recommends travelers to take these everyday actions to help prevent the spread of germs and protect against colds, flu, and other illnesses, including MERS.

- 06/06/2015 Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus (MERS-CoV) – Republic of Korea. On 5 June 2015, the National IHR Focal Point of the Republic of Korea notified WHO of 5 additional confirmed cases of Middle East Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus (MERS-CoV), including 1 death.
- 06/06/2015 Middle East Respiratory Syndrome coronavirus (MERS-CoV) – Saudi Arabia. Between 1 and 4 June 2015, the National IHR Focal Point for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia notified WHO of 5 additional cases of Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus (MERS-CoV) infection, including 1 death.
- 06/04/2015 Cholera in Tanzania. Tanzania’s large-scale cholera outbreak is not solely confined to the thousands of Burundian refugees who fled insecurity at home. Local Tanzanians have also been infected with the water-borne disease, prompting scaled-up surveillance efforts by the World Health Organization (WHO) and health authorities to trace and stamp out any new cases.

- 06/05/2015 Update of MERS-CoV rapid risk assessment following large South Korean cluster. ECDC’s assessment continues to be that the MERS-CoV outbreak poses a low risk to the EU and highlights the importance of rapid consideration of MERS-CoV and infection control measures in healthcare settings.
