- Ebola standing travel notice. CDC urges all US residents to avoid nonessential travel to Guinea and Sierra Leone because of unprecedented outbreaks of Ebola in those countries.

- 08/26/2015 Algeria Travel Warning. The Department of State continues to warn U.S. citizens against travel to the Kabylie region and remote areas of southern and eastern Algeria.

- 08/21/2015 Middle East Respiratory Syndrome coronavirus (MERS-CoV) – Saudi Arabia. Between 13 and 17 August 2015, the National IHR Focal Point for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia notified WHO of 19 additional cases of Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus (MERS-CoV) infection, including 1 death.
- 08/18/2015 Middle East Respiratory Syndrome coronavirus (MERS-CoV) – Saudi Arabia. Between 10 and 12 August 2015, the National IHR Focal Point for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia notified WHO of 12 additional cases of Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus (MERS-CoV) infection, including 1 death.

- 08/24/2015 ECDC Rapid Risk Assessment on chikungunya case in Spain. The current world-wide epidemiological situation of chikungunya has resulted in an increased number of imported chikungunya cases in Europe, mainly originating from the Americas. Travellers returning from chikungunya outbreak areas should seek medical care if presenting with symptoms consistent with chikungunya.
- 08/24/2015 Summary of public health threats, CDTR week 34/2015. This issue covers the period of 16 to 22 August 2015 and includes updates on a case of chikungunya in Spain, meningococcal disease associated with Scout Jamboree in Japan, and monitoring of West Nile fever in Europe.
