Avoid Nonessential Travel
U.S. Department of State
- Nigeria Travel Warning. The Department of State warns U.S. citizens of the risks of travel to Nigeria and recommends that U.S. citizens avoid all but essential travel to Adamawa, Bauchi, Borno, Gombe, Kano, and Yobe states because the security situation in northeast Nigeria remains fluid and unpredictable.
- Sudan Travel Warning. The U.S. Department of State warns U.S. citizens not to travel to Sudan.
- Democratic Republic of the Congo Travel Warning. The Department of State warns U.S. citizens to avoid unnecessary travel to the DRC.

- Zika Virus Advisory. Local mosquito transmission of Zika virus infection (Zika) has been reported in Argentina. Local mosquito transmission means that mosquitoes in the area are infected with Zika virus and are spreading it to people. - Zika Virus – Protecting Pregnant Women and Babies. Zika infection during pregnancy can cause serious birth defects in babies. The CDC has specific recommendations for travelers going to Zika impacted areas.
