Nearly 2,000 people have been displaced to 11 evacuation points. Any activity within a 5 km radius of the summit of Mount Semeru has been suspended. The south-eastern sector of Semeru, along Besuk Kobokan, has the potential to be affected by the expansion of hot clouds and lava flows (see map).

- Heavy rainfall, strong winds and thunderstorms have been affecting southern Italy (in particular Calabria, Puglia and Sicily regions) over the past few days (ERCC), triggering landslides and causing floods, rivers overflow, mudflows and a number of severe weather-related incidents (particularly due to the strong wind) that have resulted in evacuations and damage.
