Avoid Nonessential Travel
CDC
- Nepal standing travel notice. CDC recommends that US residents avoid all nonessential travel to Nepal. If you must travel, such as for humanitarian aid work, then protect yourself by following CDC’s advice below.
- Ebola standing travel notice. CDC urges all US residents to avoid nonessential travel to Guinea and Sierra Leone because of unprecedented outbreaks of Ebola in those countries.
U.S. Department of State
- 06/15/2015 Sudan Travel Warning. The Department of State warns U.S. citizens of the risks of traveling to Sudan. We urge U.S. citizens to avoid all travel to the Darfur region of Sudan, and to Blue Nile and Southern Kordofan states, and advise U.S. citizens to consider carefully the risks of travel in other areas of Sudan.

- 06/17/2015 Hajj and Umrah in Saudi Arabia. Follow CDC’s recommendations, such as being up-to-date on your vaccines, to help keep you safe and healthy. Includes recommendations to reduce risk of MERS infection.
- 06/16/2015 MERS in the Republic of Korea. On May 20, the Republic of Korea reported its first laboratory-confirmed case of Middle East respiratory syndrome (MERS). All transmission has been linked to health care facilities where MERS patients were treated.

- 06/19/2015 MERS Status report. 166 Cases in South Korea and China. 165 in South Korea. 1 in China. 24 deaths.
- 06/16/2015 Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus (MERS-CoV) – Republic of Korea. Between 13 and 16 June 2015, the National IHR Focal Point of the Republic of Korea notified WHO of 28 additional confirmed cases of Middle East Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus (MERS-CoV) alongside 8 additional deaths.
- 06/16/2015 Middle East Respiratory Syndrome coronavirus (MERS-CoV) – Saudi Arabia. Between 9 and 12 June 2015, the National IHR Focal Point for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia notified WHO of 3 additional cases of Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus (MERS-CoV) infection, including 1 death.
- 06/16/2015 Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus (MERS-CoV) – United Arab Emirates. On 15 June 2015, the National IHR Focal Point of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) notified WHO of 1 additional case of Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus (MERS-CoV) infection.
- 06/15/2015 Human infection with avian influenza A(H7N9) virus – China. On 12 June 2015, the National Health and Family Planning Commission (NHFPC) of China notified WHO of 15 additional laboratory-confirmed cases of human infection with avian influenza A (H7N9) virus, including 3 deaths.

- 06/18/2015 Updated Case Counts (From WHO SitReps). Countries with Widespread Transmission, Countries with an Initial Case or Cases and/or Localized Transmission, Previously Affected Countries.
- 06/17/2015 Ebola in Liberia. CDC is no longer recommending that US residents avoid nonessential travel to Liberia. However, CDC recommends that US residents practice enhanced precautions when traveling to Liberia.
